大雑把に言えば、男の子の名前は昔からあまりトレンドがなくて、マイケル、ジョン、トム、ビル、ジム、ジョー、リチャード、スティーブ、ブライアン、エドワード、チャールズ、ジェイソン、ジェイコブ、ジェラルド、ジョージ、ゲイリー、ダニエル、アンソニー、ぐらいでほとんどの世代は埋まるだろ。

女の子の名前には、オーソドックスながら緩やかなトレンドがあって、ハリエットやジョアンナ、ヴァイオレット、イヴォンヌ、と聞けば「おばあさん」のイメージだし、私と同世代はジェニファー、キンバリー、リンダあたりがやたら多い。それがティファニーや、アシュリー、ブリッタニーと聞くと一回り下の女の子が浮かぶ。時代を全く選ばないエリザベスというロングセラーもあるが。
